Klubba

Kap'n K. Rool treats us rotten. I hope yer scupper his plans!
~ Klubba to Dixie and Diddy about Kaptain K. Rool's cruelty

Klubba is the doorman of his kiosk called Klubba's Kiosk, and is the secondary antagonist of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. He was assigned by Kaptain K. Rool to protect the Toll Bridge where the only access to the Lost World; the core of Crocodile Isle, is located. Klubba is very unhappy with Kaptain K. Rool's cruel leadership as he suffers from his horrible mistreatment along with the rest of the Kremlings. As such, he will let you pass if you pay him with 15 Kremkoins, even speaking negatively of K. Rool on occasions. If you dare don't pay, however, and choose to fight him, he will smack you away from the bridge and challenge you to come again.

Appearance

Klubba is a large green Kremling who has a very muscular upper body with a stitch on the right pec of his chest, an anchor tattoo on his right shoulder and an eyepatch over his left eye. Aside from the aforementioned eyepatch, Klubba also wears tattered red pants held up by a black belt with a white skull belt-buckle. For a weapon, Klubba wields a giant spiked club studded with nails. His physique is similar to Kudgel (yet the difference between the two are their skin colors and pants colors (yet, in the GBA port, both Kudgel and Klubba's pants are red)), and it's confirmed that Klubba and Kudgel are brothers, with Klubba being the talkative and even stronger, but kindhearted and anti-villainous younger brother and Kudgel being the mute older brother.

Personality

Klubba talks like a gruff, stereotypical pirate and tries to act intimidating in front of the Kongs, mainly Dixie and Diddy. However, his attitude towards the heroes changes when he is payed off with Kremkoins, treating the Kongs more friendly and basically giving them the "V.I.P. treatment" (at least until they reach the next Klubba's Kiosk), while also calling them friends as well as polishing the bridge just for them, and even helping them when they are in trouble. Interestingly, Klubba still stays friendly even after getting paid in all five of his kiosks (in Crocodile Cauldron, Krem Quay, Krazy Kremland, Gloomy Gulch and K. Rool's Keep respectively).

However, Klubba is not completely evil. In fact, he reveals to Diddy and Dixie that Kaptain K. Rool treats him and the rest of the Kremlings and their non-Kremling affiliates horribly (for Klubba's case, "Kap'n K. Rool treats us rotten. I hope yer scupper his plans!"), and because of that, Klubba wants K. Rool gone from his life, confirming that Klubba has no real hatred or ill-will towards the Kongs, and that his rough and intimidating guard exterior is actually revealed to be a ruse.

Biography

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest

Klubba will appear at Klubba's Kiosk guarding a toll bridge which leads to the Lost World. However, Klubba will not let the Kongs pass unless they pay him with Kremkoins. The amount of Klubba's toll will always stay the same (15 Kremkoins) every time Diddy and Dixie meet him at a different kiosk, but once he is payed, they to don’t need to pay him again at that location to cross the bridge. In the Game Boy Advance port, a fourth option, Bag a Bug (or Bag A Bug), is added, and apparently, Klubba explains the rules to Diddy and Dixie, and he will let them play it for free on their first try, but adds for playing it again costs 5 Banana Coins.

Donkey Kong Land 2

Klubba retains the role that he had in the previous game, but his kiosk is only found on the Crocodile Isle map on the west of Gloomy Gulch, and the player will need to collect all 47 Kremkoins to pass him.
