Gigabyte is the overarching antagonist of the computer animated cartoon ReBoot.
His name is a reference to one billion bytes of computer memory.
History
Birth
Gigabyte was originally a weaker being who attempted to invade the Super Computer but was caught by the system's guardians. He was then scheduled to be deleted but managed to escape. A mysterious programmer upgraded the virus' strength which led to his transformation into a new life form known as Gigabyte. A moment later, he was teleported directly to Mainframe as part of a scientific experiment. He arrived in a portal and was split into different forms: Megabyte and Hexadecimal.
Reconstruction
Years later, Megabyte was infected by a creature from the web. He then merged with Hexadecimal. Gigabyte was reformed by the combination.
Rampage
With Gigabyte reconstructed, he went on a rampage through Mainframe. He focused on absorbing energy from digital life forms who encountered him. His razor sharp claw was capable of tearing through hard pieces of metal. His body was very durable and could easily recover from attacks. Despite the advantages, Gigabyte was slow and could only find energy by looking for it. He did manage to find the system core, which was the largest source of energy in Mainframe.
Demise
Gigabyte immediately went to the principle office to reach the core. He used his strength to gain access upon arrival. Before he could enter the building, a portal of other energy was placed onto him. The portal then split Gigabyte back into Hexadecimal, Megabyte, and the web creature. The Super Virus was never seen again.
