Baragon (in Japanese: バラゴン), also known as the Subterranean Monster, is a dinosaur Kaiju known as a Baranosdragon and the titular main antagonist of Frankenstein vs. Baragon. He serves as the archenemy of Frankenstein.
He was suit portrayed by the late Haruo Nakajima in the Showa films (who also portrayed Godzilla, Moguera, Gezora, Gaira and Varan) and Rie Ota in Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, with Toshinori Sasaki as a stunt double.
Biography
Frankenstein vs. Baragon
Baragon was awakened from his slumber by disturbing noises from a factory and rampaged across Japan, but was not caught during the attacks, so Frankenstein was blamed instead. He eventually encountered Frankenstein and the two battled each other, ending with Frankenstein breaking Baragon's neck.
Destroy All Monsters
Another Baragon was seen in Destroy All Monsters, where he observed the battle against King Ghidorah and later returned to Monsterland to live in peace.

Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack
Baragon was one of the three guardian monsters awakened to fight Godzilla, but was overpowered and killed by the King of the Monsters.

Trivia
- In Destroy All Monsters, Baragon was meant to attack Paris and smash the Arc de Triomphe under the control of the Kilaaks; but due to damage to the suit from being used in the Ultraman series, the role was instead given to Gorosaurus.
