Newfoundland, referred to as the Golden Lands, is a large island off the east coast of the North American mainland, explored by Ubbe, Othere, Floki, Torvi and others.
In Vikings
Upon arriving in Newfoundland, the group discover Skraelings, the less than complimentary Norse name for foreigners that means "savages." They also discover Floki. Relations with the Skraelings are warm, and even survive an act of unsanctioned violence.

The Vikings encounter the Beothuk people in Newfoundland. The last known member of the Beothuk people died in 1829.
