Dan Mintz

Dan Mintz is the DMG Entertainment CEO, and Chairman of Valiant Entertainment, DMG having fully acquired Valiant in 2018. Under the leadership of Dan Mintz, DMG and Valiant have announced plans to push the Valiant universe’s stories in new directions across many connected mediums including movies, television and video game experiences while maintaining the comic publishing in parallel.

Mintz and DMG Entertainment bring considerable filmmaking experience to the Valiant universe. Mintz himself has taken on various roles in the filmmaking process, including directing, editing, producing, editing, and cinematography. While Dan Mintz comes from a background in visual arts, he also has decades of experience in the business world.

Dan Mintz, DMG and Valiant signed a 5-picture movie deal with Sony Pictures which is expected to establish Valiant as the third-largest connected cinematic universe behind Marvel and DC. In various interviews, Mintz has stated that DMG intends to give Valiant a level of creative freedom and edginess that the larger corporate entities such as Disney-owned Marvel are less able to pursue[1] due to their enormous size and abundance of mainstream stakeholders.

The movie Bloodshot, released in 2020, is the first Valiant movie for which Dan Mintz and DMG Entertainment are executive producers but is not the first comic book movie that they have produced. Dan Mintz was an executive producer on Marvel's blockbuster movie Iron Man 3[2]

Dan Mintz has confirmed that a wide range of Valiant characters will be getting their own movies. A film based on the Harbinger series is in production, with Shadowman and Faith also set to appear in their own movies. TV series are also in production based on Valiant characters Quantum and Woody.

Mintz has expressed his love for Valiant’s cast of over 2,000 characters as being more relevant than existing comic universes Marvel and DC[3]

Dan Mintz and DMG are also engaging partnerships to pursue VR gaming experiences that can immerse fans more deeply into the Valiant universe. DMG has partnered with Blowfish Studios and Arcturus to advance these plans further.

History

Dan Mintz first started working with Valiant Entertainment in 2015, when DMG bought a minority stake in the company. In 2018, DMG Entertainment fully acquired Valiant - and announced a strong focus on filmmaking will be brought to the company going forward.
