Itadaki Defota (戴デフォ太 (いただきでふぉた)), also known as just Defota, is a voicebank for the UTAU program.
Profile
Much like Defosuke and Defo Imouto, Defota does not have a defined personality.
Etymology details
- Itadaki (戴) - The name came from Ameya asking for a name on 2chan for the character. Ameya sent the reply: "低音音源第一号の名前はいただき。" (teion ongen dai ichi gō no namae wa itadaki.) which means "Please give me a name for the first bass voicebank.". Itadaki (いただき) being the polite form of "to receive". However, because of the way the request was written the sentence could also be read as "The first bass voicebank's name is Itadaki". A 2chan user made that joke, and another suggested his name be "頂デフォ太", "頂" meaning "top" or "peak" and is read as "itadaki". Ameya went with this but changed the kanji used from "頂" to "戴" meaning "to be crowned with" and is read the same way, "itadaki".
- Defota (デフォ太) - Default Great. "-ta" being a common suffix for male Japanese names. Default coming from the fact that he was created by Ameya for the UTAU engine.
Character details
Ameya has commonly depicted Defota as a young adult male with shoulder length purple hair that is tied back into a ponytail. His bangs are also slicked back, exposing his forehead. He often wears more adult-like clothing like suits and dress shirts as opposed to Defosuke who's often portrayed wearing more student-like clothing.

- Details - There is a single voicebank that is called "AquesTalk Male-1," which is distributed for free by Aquest.com, Ameya has been granted special permission by the company to feature their software in UTAU.
- Defota is not packed with UTAU as a default voice bank. However he can be downloaded from the UTAU homepage downloads, under the voicebank section. He does not come from an organic voice source; that is, his voice is 100% machine synthesized.
- Because of this, and adding the fact that he only has Japanese recordings, Defota is not for beginners. Though some have tried to come up with quality output using him, this is no easy task, due to his excessive airiness, or lack of voice clarity. Users can attempt to overcome voice quality issues through tweaking of note flags in UTAU.

- Defota, alongside Defoko, Defosuke and Defo Imouto are collectively called "Ko-Suke-Imouto-Ta" (子妹助太),[1] "De-Four" (デ4) or the "Default Singers" (デフォルトシンガーズ), given their status as voicebanks created by Ameya himself for the UTAU engine. The four of them having a specific voice type.
