Full of Sunshine - Full of Amours (太陽がいっぱい 浮気がいっぱい, Taiyō ga Ippai - Uwaki ga Ippai) is the 82nd episode of Urusei Yatsura.
Summary
At the beach, Ataru, Mendo and Ten make three Sakura sand dolls come to life with a core technology. Frustrated, Lum tries to make Ataru jealous by going out with a dolphin posing as a handsome lover.
Plot Overview
At the beach with Lum, Ten, Shinobu, Mendō, Sakura, and Cherry, Ataru digs a canal to cause Ten's sandcastle to flood and collapse. Ten rebuilds and encourages him to try again, but this time water bounces off the sandcastle as if it were stone, which Ten and Lum show is due to Ten's alien toy, "Core." Lum and Shinobu go off to get drinks for the others as Sakura naps in the sun, and Ataru builds a sand sculpture of Sakura. He asks Ten whether he can turn the sculpture to stone with Core so he can feel its curves, and Ten responds that he can even make it move and speak. Mendō asks whether Ten has a second, and when Ten responds he has three, they build two more sculptures, one for each of them, each of which Core makes indistinguishable from the real Sakura. Lum and Shinobu return, having coincidentally run into Tsubame; when Tsubame sees "Sakura" flirting with both Ataru and Mendō, he becomes convinced she plans to leave him, and gives his farewell to the real Sakura as she wakes up, confusing her. Sakura sees her clones and attacks them and the boys until Lum disintegrates the clones by deactivating Core remotely. The real Sakura is then accosted by Tsubame, Ataru, Mendō, and Ten at once.
Ataru joins a group of girls playing with a beach ball, and Lum threatens to find another man; Ataru, wearing earplugs in anticipation of her objections, does not object. A talking dolphin watches the humans play envy and flirts with three human girls who swim away in terror, leading the dolphin to wish he were human. The dolphin finds Lum sitting on a rock, and she accepts his offer of a date, giving him an earring that lets him turn into a handsome human man. Ataru, jealous, sabotages him, first hitting him in the head with a Frisbee to make his eyes briefly revert to dolphin eyes, then groping a woman and leading her to blame him, and last tripping him onto a female sunbather. Mendō offers Lum ice cream, and when the dolphin thinks it might be for him, Mendō scolds him that he should treat women better. These experiences rid the dolphin of his desire to be a human man, intensifying his gratitude to Lum and making Ataru even more jealous, to Lum's delight; however, rather than returning to dolphin form, the dolphin uses the earring to become a human woman, and Ataru latches onto her, angering Lum.
