PAL is Gamu Takayama and XIG's AI (Artificial Intelligence) navigator.

His name, PAL, is an American English slang for friend.
History
Ultraman Gaia
PAL was first seen in Gamu's computer where he acted as a navigator. When Gamu was recruited into XIG, PAL served as his assistant by taking control of his XIG Fighter EX via autopilot whenever the former transformed into Ultraman Gaia, or by navigating the XIG members. During the Aerial Base's last stand against Mokian, everyone was forced to evacuate except Commander Ishimuro, who ordered PAL to take control of and ram the base into the gigantic monster to save Gaia, whom the commander had just learned was really Gamu all along.
After both Gaia and Agul fell to the hands of Zog, PAL auto-piloted the XIG Fighter EX to attack her, where he and the fighter would ultimately be destroyed by her Vicious Shockwave Ball.
Though seemingly destroyed, PAL managed to survive, and would later assist Gamu and the whole of Team Marlin when they went down undersea to investigate the underground civilization, however, PAL, Gamu and Team Marlin would also encounter the next agent of the Radical Destruction Bringer: Gakuzom.
Trivia
- When designing his personal jet, XIG Fighter EX, Gamu borrowed some of PAL's design to fit into the aircraft.
- PAL would later inspire Pag, the digital navigator from Ultraman Blazar.
Powers and Weapons
- Computer Control: PAL can control any technologies under his own will.
- Data Transmission: PAL can shifted to any nearby technology in order to survive.
- Search Engine: Given that he is an AI program, PAL can also act as a search engine.
