MAT Vehicle is a special-purpose vehicle owned by MAT, primarily used for patrol.
Overview
The MAT Vehicle is a special-purpose vehicle primarily used for patrols, based on the Mazda Cosmo Sport (L10B).
The vehicle's driver's seat is equipped with a high-performance communication device, radar, and detection equipment. The roof is fitted with emergency driving warning lights, and it can also be equipped with a 30-round rocket launcher to participate in ground combat missions. As the series progresses, a stabilizer designed by Ken Sakata is also installed on the vehicle, significantly improving its driving performance.[1]
In addition to the standard paint job, MAT also has a vehicle with camouflage paint. This vehicle is painted dark green all over, with khaki stickers applied on top.

Trivia
- In the original naming, the vehicle was called "Mat Bihicle" because the staff misread "Vehicle" as "Bihicle," resulting in the current name.
- In episode 1 and in promotional stills, the Mat Vehicle features a smaller MAT logo on the side of the vehicle.
- A Japanese car owner named Yasushi Shiroi purchased a Cosmo Sport in 1989 and modified it into an MAT Vehicle for participation in numerous exhibitions. Subsequently, this vehicle has been used many times in unofficial events.[6][7]
- In the 2024 film Ultraman: Rising, this vehicle appears as Ken Sato's race car collection Easter egg, and simultaneously, the same model Cosmo Sport is used as Professor Sato's vehicle in the film.
