Trivia

  • According to a joint interview with Shingo Kazami and Kyusaku Shimada in 2002:[1]
    • Kazami mentioned that when they first started filming Ultraman Cosmos: The First Contact, the shooting for the television series had not yet begun. However, at that time, the staff informed him in advance that "the captain for the TV version is Daisuke Tsuru."
    • During the filming of Ultraman Cosmos: The First Contact, Kazami had the opportunity to meet his respected actor, Mainoumi Shūhei. However, since he was portraying an SRC team member at the time, he felt that he could never take on the role of captain.
    • After receiving the invitation to participate in Ultraman Cosmos 2: The Blue Planet, he was taken aback when he saw the SEA team's uniforms. He had originally expected leather uniforms similar to EYES. Because the uniforms were lighter and more casual, there were instances during the filming in Saipan when tourists mistook him for a hotel staff member and even attempted to hand him their luggage, which led to some awkward situations.
    • Regarding his co-starring with Taiyo Sugiura, Kazami noted that the filming for the movie and the television series was conducted simultaneously. While shooting in Saipan, the SEA actors were free to soak up the sun. However, since Sugiura had to continue filming for the TV series, he could not get too tanned.
    • When the SEA actors returned to Japan, they visited the set of the television series to check in on the EYES actors.
