Trivia

  • Jin Nakayama's involvement in the Ultraman series began in 1978 when he appeared in Tsuburaya Productions' TV special Saturday Wide Theater: Bizarre! The Mansion of Giant Creatures produced for TV Asahi. Director Kazuho Mitsuta, who worked on the special, took notice of Nakayama's performance.[4]
    • Later, when Mitsuta became the producer of Ultraman 80, he insisted that while the protagonist could be a newcomer, the team captain needed to be portrayed by someone with an unmistakable presence. Based on this, he extended an offer to Nakayama, who gladly accepted, expressing: "I hope to leave something meaningful for children through this work."
  • According to Nakayama's reflections on his experience in Ultraman 80, he shared: "When the show aired, children would shout 'Captain!' and call out to me. That feeling was really special and made me so happy. I had never encountered anything like that before, and it made me feel a bit shy."
    • He also noted how those very children later grew up to become filmmakers and crew members. Some would approach him on set and say, "I watched Ultraman 80 when I was a kid." This, Nakayama remarked, made him truly grateful for being part of the series and made him realize that he had indeed left behind something meaningful.
