"If you Earthlings protect Alien Simon, you're our enemy! Give Simon to us! Or else, I'll destroy everything and kill everyone!"
- ―Yapool, speaking through Jumbo King, Ultraman Ace episode 52 "You Are the Ace of Tomorrow!"
Jumbo King[2] is the final Terrible-Monster that appeared in episode 52 of Ultraman Ace. In a first for the series, Jumbo King is a chimeric monster, a combination comprised of Yapool's giant form, plus four Terrible-Monsters previously used by Yapool - Cowra, Unitang, Mazaronian and Mazarius.
Subtitle: Ultimate Terrible-Monster [3]
History
Ultraman Ace
As Yapool's strongest Terrible-Monster yet, Jumbo King was formed by combining the souls of the deceased Terrible-Monster: Unitang, Cowra, Mazaronian, and Mazarius with Yapool's own giant form. Unleashed by Yapool (under the guise of Alien Simon, who was in the company of TAC). Yapool's giant form appeared with the souls of the Terrible-Monsters and combined with them to form Jumbo King. To avoid detection, Yapool spoke through Jumbo King, demanding TAC give him Alien Simon, or else he would kill all of them. TAC quickly opened fire, but Jumbo King's hide made him impervious to their assault and during the scuffle, Hokuto was injured by the Terrible-Monster. With Hokuto out of the picture, Jumbo King vanished.
Later Yapool released Jumbo King again, this time in the heart of a city. With only TAC as it's opposition, Jumbo King easily withstood their assaults and downed them all at once when they tried to ensnare him with a net. With the city leveled from his Terrible-Monster's rampage, Yapool recalled Jumbo King again. The next day Yapool unleashed Jumbo King again, this time in the city where Hokuto was hiding out in. Endangering the lives of several children, Hokuto was quick to evacuate them while TAC tried to destroy the monster with a newly crafted weapon they've created (which failed).
While TAC attempted to deal with Jumbo King, Yapool revealed the truth to Hokuto through telepathy, gloating that Hokuto couldn't kill him, lest he destroy the trust the children had for him. However, as he had no other choice, Hokuto shot Alien Simon, defeating Yapool and causing the children to become distrustful. However, he revealed his true identity as Ace's host to them, causing them to regain their trust. With nothing left to do but stop Jumbo King and end Yapool's final scheme for good, Hokuto transformed into Ultraman Ace for the final time to battle against the chimera.
Jumbo King's size and sheer strength was more than a match for Ace, and the Ultra was quickly overpowered. Motivated by the words of all his friends he had made, Ace refused to give up and continued fighting. Ace then fired his Metalium Beam at Jumbo King's head, weakening the Terrible-Monster enough for Ace to use the Guillotine Shot, decapitating the Terrible-Monster and killing it. With Jumbo King dead, Yapool's reign of terror on Earth had seemingly come to an end.
Trivia
- Jumbo King's roar is a reused Draculas' roar, which was created from the Bat-Men from Latitude Zero.
- The strange cackling sound made during Jumbo King's formation is reused from Alien Baltan Jr. when he becomes giant.
- Though mentioned by name and clearly a component, Cowra's ghost isn't seen with the others during Jumbo King's creation.
