Dore Kraus is an American actor who is well known for his role as Jack Shindo, the human host of Ultraman Great, in Ultraman: Towards the Future.
Career
Dore Kraus was born in the United States and grew up living in Colorado, New York, Arizona, and Santa Barbara County, California.[1]
In the late 1980s, Kraus traveled to Australia to become a student of William Cheung, studying martial arts as one of his international private students. During that time, he was involved with a local film director and was introduced to an agent through her, leading to roles in film and television productions.[1]
In 1989, Kraus auditioned for and landed the role of Jack Shindo, the male lead in Ultraman: Towards the Future. After filming wrapped up, he stayed in Singapore for a year before returning to the United States to retire from acting and pursue a career in the wine industry.[1]
Since the 2010s, he has been actively involved in unofficial activities related to the Ultraman series.[2][3][4][5]

- In a 2009 interview with Dore Kraus[1], he stated that:
- Steve Apps was let go early on before he had a chance to meet him while he only met Robert Simper once or twice (Ultraman Great's suit actors).
- His favorite monster is the Gudis as it sort of reminded him of a part of the female anatomy.
- In a lecture during Dore Klaus's visit to Japan in 2023, Klaus mentioned that in recent years he had reconnected with Gia Carides, who played the role of Jean Echo. Klaus discovered that they had mutual friends and contacted Carides by phone. Although Carides initially did not recall Klaus, they have since maintained their friendship.[6]
