Daisuke Arashi is a member of SSSP, recognized for his exceptional shooting abilities and remarkable physical strength. He handles a variety of modern weapons with ease and is known for his straightforward, cheerful, and highly responsible personality, as well as his courageous and daring disposition. Arashi joined SSSP with the goal of helping others and often leads assault teams during missions. As a frontline member, he works closely with other team members in investigations, patrols, countermeasures, and intelligence operations.

Arashi takes great pleasure in using the large firearm known as the Spider-Shot, which he affectionately refers to as "my spider." He frequently teams up with his colleague Mitsuhiro Ide on missions; however, Arashi's occasional recklessness and impulsivity, coupled with carelessness, can lead to minor disagreements between them. Throughout the series, despite facing numerous attacks from monsters, he consistently emerges unscathed.

When an object emitting mysterious and strong electromagnetic waves was observed near the Gotenyama Mountain Science Center, Arashi was sent to investigate the scene by Captain Muramatsu. During the investigation, he was captured and controlled by Alien Baltan. In response, the SSSP and the Earth Defense Force held a defensive meeting to discuss potential countermeasures. As Ide attempted to communicate with Alien Baltan using interstellar language, Alien Baltan used Arashi's attempt to communicate with Ide to reveal Alien Baltan's identity and plot to Ide and the arriving Hayata. Afterward, Arashi regained his consciousness.Shoot the Invaders!

During SSSP's investigation of a series of mysterious suffocation deaths, Arashi and Ide visited Dr. Yamada's laboratory. They learned that Dr. Yamada had died while modifying the carnivorous plant Miloganda, which he had brought back from Oiris Island. Additionally, they discovered that the flowers of Miloganda, which had been exposed to radiation, had disappeared. At the crime scene, traces of animal-like mucus and plant-like chlorophyll were found. Arashi speculated that Miloganda had mutated due to radiation exposure.

When the members were sent to protect Setsuko, a survivor from the investigation team, Arashi was patrolling outside Setsuko's house when he was attacked by Greenmons. However, other team members arrived in time and used a Supergun to drive the monster into the swamp. Later, when news of Greenmons appearing in Marunouchi reached them, Arashi, driven by a sense of duty, used a flamethrower to attack Greenmons again, but he was affected by the green mist from Greenmons and fell unconscious. He was rescued just in time by Hayata and other arriving SSSP members.Secret of the Miloganda

In the battle against Jamila, he once expressed the attitude that "monsters must be destroyed" and stated that the SSSP exists to eliminate any monster that poses a threat to humanity, regardless of their reasons. However, after Ide refuted him and he learned Jamila's true identity, he no longer held onto this position. My Home Is Earth

In the fight against Woo, he described the monster as a tragic existence in human society in a sarcastic tone while suggesting an attack on Woo along with other members.Phantom of the Snow Mountains

One day, while SSSP was visiting a newly built children's center, an anomaly occurred in the sky, resulting in a strong light of 60 million candela. Those who directly looked at the light were instantly blinded, prompting them to take precautionary measures. This strange light phenomenon did not occur again for a period of time. However, one day, Zaragas appeared, accompanied by red mist.

SSSP discovered that Zaragas was responsible for this strange light phenomenon. They launched the "Ultra Cross Operation" using their main combat aircraft, Jet VTOL, and successfully inflicted damage on Zaragas. Zaragas' shell fell off after being attacked, and it changed its appearance and physiology to adapt to the attacks. SSSP received orders to stop attacking Zaragas and return to base. Arashi was unhappy with the orders. At that moment, SSSP headquarters received reports that children were trapped inside the children's center, prompting Hayata and others to go rescue them. Hayata and Arashi entered the children's center to save the children, but while evacuating, Hayata and the children were exposed to Zaragas' light, resulting in eye injuries. To protect the children, Arashi ignored the orders and fired the new QX Gun, a weapon capable of destroying brain cells.

Although Zaragas was momentarily stunned, it did not fall and instead became even more ferocious, destroying the children's center. Arashi was disciplined for disobeying orders and was stripped of his SSSP badge. Disheartened, Arashi went to the hospital where Hayata and the children were hospitalized due to their blindness. When he heard the children ask, "Uncle, has the monster been defeated by SSSP? SSSP is strong, right?" Arashi, feeling guilty, decided to defy the ban and pilot the Jet VTOL to approach Zaragas to make up for his mistake.

QX Gun

When Hayata learned that Arashi was fighting alone, he immediately got out of his hospital bed and transformed into Ultraman to challenge Zaragas. Although his vision had initially recovered, exposure to the bright light once again caused severe visual impairment. Ultraman struggled to face an enemy he could not see. At that moment, Arashi fired the QX gun at Zaragas, causing Zaragas to suffer, and Ultraman's vision was simultaneously restored. Ultimately, Ultraman defeated Zaragas.

Since Arashi had helped Ultraman successfully defeat the powerful enemy, Captain Muramatsu allowed him to return to his duties with the SSSP.Don't Shoot, Arashi!

Together, they launched the Pencil Bomb at Zetton, causing it to explode and allowing humanity to achieve victory with their own hands. Ultraman Kaiju Densetsu- 40 Years of Truth HD

After the SSSP was absorbed into the Earth Defense Force, Arashi retired from the frontlines and became the director of a assisted living facility. Thirty years later, the death of Captain Muramatsu deeply saddened the SSSP members. Despite their activities expanding globally, they failed to reunite at Captain Muramatsu's funeral.

Forty years later, Arashi received an anonymous letter inviting him to Captain Matsumura's former residence, which led him to reunite with his old comrades. During this time, Fuji and Ide speculated that Hayata might reveal his true identity as Ultraman. However, Arashi expressed his own view that the true identity of Ultraman had already been resolved during the confrontation with Antlar, and that upon seeing the God of Noa, he believed Ultraman was a divine being and a reward for humanity's efforts. Later, when Hayata revealed the truth, he said he might be Ultraman, but now he's just an old man.

After taking a group photo with Captain Muramatsu's memorial portrait, the members of SSSP left Captain Muramatsu's home.Ultraman Kaiju Legend: The 40 Year Old Truth

Revive! Ultraman

In another timeline of the original series, one month after Ultraman's defeat by Zetton, as the SSSP's strength gradually increased, Arashi began to promote the idea that "Ultraman is no longer needed." This caused disagreements among other members and raised concerns within Hayata.

Upon discovering the mysterious space force, Arashi joined the team in providing support. However, the Alien Zetton seized the opportunity to attack the headquarters once again. After Alien Zetton was defeated, the sound it emitted became the signal for the monsters to launch a full-scale attack. Subsequently, Arashi actively participated in frontline missions to combat the monster threat.

When Ultraman ultimately couldn't defeat Zetton, Ide handed the energy supplement to Arashi for firing, successfully restoring Ultraman's strength. As Zetton was defeated, the members of SSSP cheered jubilantly.Revive! Ultraman

Meanwhile, Arashi returned to Joker headquarters informing the group that they were ready to defeat Kamen Norider. Later, he watched Kamen Norider fighting the footmen and the storm-themed kaijin. However, he was interrupted and confronted by Tachibana, now wearing an SSSP uniform, only to be overwhelmed by him. Tachibana broke his brainwashing by simply punching him in his face. Afterwards, the two men were properly reunited and, with the kaijin defeated, they, along with Kinashi and his girlfriend, returned to the café to celebrate their victory.
