Silver John is a tall pirate that could be found in Buccaneer's Den during Ultima IV.

When the Stranger met him inside Captain Black Tavern, he said that he and his companions raided the coasts of Britannia for fun, pillaging and burning everything.

Silver John also asked if the Stranger was a pirate. If the hero answered "yes" (thus lying), the Stranger would lower his Humility; if the answer was "no", the hero would raise his Humility.

• Silver John's name may be based on the famous fictional pirate Long John Silver from the novel Treasure Island. Another character that may be based on Long John Silver is Long John Leary.
