Gauntlet is a recurring boss from the Turrican series, first appearing in the original Turrican and later returning in Mega Turrican and Super Turrican.
Details
Gauntlet appears as a giant floating robotic fist. According to the first game's console manuals, it was originally part of a terraforming robot. It mostly floats around the top of the screen, attempting to level itself with the player's position then coming down to smash the player.
