Toby's Visitors is a magazine story.
Plot
Toby can sometimes spend days away from the other engines when working on his quarry line and is glad to have Henrietta for company. One day, Toby is informed that some visitors will be coming to inspect the quarry and he and Henrietta are to have a thorough wash before they go to collect them. Unfortunately, the visitors' ship has arrived early and, as she is closer, Daisy is chosen to bring them.
Toby tries to be cheerful when Daisy pulls into the station but his mood changes when Daisy states how Henrietta is too old for important work like this. Toby tries to stick up for his dear friend but Daisy just ignores him.
Then, Daisy asks Toby where the fuel pump is. Toby states that there is not one nearby, due to him being a steam engine and the only one who works the line. Daisy is disapointed as she was in such a rush that she forgot to refuel. Without hesitation, Toby offers to take the visitors back to the harbour and brings some more fuel for Daisy on his return journey.
