The Cable Car is an electric railcar used to transport holidaymakers and climbers to the mountains on the Cable Railway. It uses cables attached to bunker, which is powered by a stationary engine to haul passenger trains on adversely steep grades. It is painted blue with red and yellow lining.
Once, the car broke down on Sodor's largest mountain when the cables jammed, so Duncan was sent off to fetch an engineer to mend the cable car.
