The Bumper Engine! is a magazine story.
Plot
Thomas sees the bumper cars at the fairgrounds. Then he uncouples from Annie and Clarabel and idles into the siding, where he tells Duck about it, and Percy, puffing into the yard, accidentally bumps into Thomas, who bumps into the front buffers. The next day, Thomas goes back to the fair and then, that evening, he sees the helter-skelter and the merry-go-round. Thomas has had enough of bumping for a whole week.
