The Air Show! is a magazine story.
Plot
Percy is helping take supplies to the hill farms on Thomas' branch line one day when he sees an unusual sight in the air; an aeroplane flying upside down! The plane eventually turns over and safely lands. Percy sees another plane before he enters a tunnel but on the other side, he can only see a man floating down with a big sheet behind him. Percy is very puzzled.
Percy later meets Gordon and Henry and explains what he saw. The big engines think Percy is teasing and brush him off. Later in the day, however, Gordon spots a plane doing loops. His driver explains it is called "stunt flying". Next, Henry sees a man flying down from the clouds and increasing speed. Henry is horrified until a big sheet pops up behind the man. The man ends up landing on the roof of one of Henry's coaches and holds tight to the roof while Henry is brought to a stop. The man apologises for his parachute being blown off course and climbs down, folds it up and Henry takes him to the next station.
Gordon and Henry apologise to Percy for not believing him. The Fat Controller then instructs the three engines to take passengers to a grand air show. At the show, Harold hovers around, aeroplanes do loops and fly upside down and more parachute jumps occur. Percy finds it all splendid but admits he is glad to keep his wheels on the rails!

Goofs
- In the seventh illustration, Henry's siderods are incorrectly drawn.
- In the third illustration, one of Percy's dome is green instead of yellow and Henry's tender and Gordon's cab are missing due to Percy's steam.
