Tea Up! is a magazine story.
Plot
Bob and Dave work as signalmen at the big junction on the Fat Controller's railway. Their signal box is high up on stilts, so they need to use a ladder to reach it and can see all the trains come and go. The signal box has levers for points and signals, a telephone for talking to the Fat Controller and a cooker with a kettle in the corner for making tea.
One day, Bob comes in with a shiny new kettle. The new kettle is much shinier than the old one and even has a whistle on it. While Dave is putting the kettle on the stove, Thomas is about to come through and he has to rush back to switch the signals.
A few minutes later, Dave hears a whistle and goes to turn the kettle off, however Bob corrects him that the whistle was Henry. Soon, he hears another whistle, however this time it is Gordon with the Express. When he hears another whistle, he remarks that the kettle sounds like James. Bob responds that it is James.
Dave remarks that Bob's new kettle is taking too long to boil, so Bob goes to inspect. He finds that Dave has forgotten to turn the cooker on. A few minutes after Dave turns the cooker on, they hear another whistle, however this time it is from the teapot.
