Seeing Steam is a magazine story.
Plot
Percy is passing an old factory during a job and the eeriness makes him uncomfortable. Having been busy elsewhere, Percy passes the same factory after a month - to find the factory all new, with steam blowing out and all around it. Percy thinks it is a new engine, but the engines dismiss it as nonsense.
Later, Percy puffs past a band, and their clothes are dirty. The Fat Controller scolds Percy, who says he was trying to be like the "new engine". The Fat Controller takes Percy to the factory, which turns out to be a Steam Cleaning factory.
