Ready and Willing is a magazine story.
Plot
One day, Bill and Ben bring their usual trains of china clay to the harbour. The twins wonder what to do now as they have nothing else scheduled and do not want to be kept hanging around.
The twins find Percy shunting, who explains the trucks being shunted are for James. Bill and Ben think James would not be in the mood to pull trucks and offer to pull them for him. Percy is unsure but before he can say anything, the twins have left the harbour with the trucks. James, however, is cross when he arrives at the harbour and finds no train for him. He grows crosser when the stationmaster instructs him to shunt, as he is still ready and willing to work.
Later, the stationmaster informs James that a train for Bill and Ben is ready but the twins have not yet returned to the harbour. James is tasked to take the train and he later finds the twins hurrying back to the harbour. He tells them that if they do go to the harbour, they will not find their train but they will find an angry stationmaster!
