Pulleys is a magazine story.
Plot
One day, Percy is collecting a load of long pipes. They are very heavy and are being loaded by tall cranes. Once loaded, the pipes are chained to their trucks.
Percy makes his way down the line, getting great enjoyment out of the clanking sound the pipes are making. Suddenly, Percy rounds a sharp bend and one of the chains snap, causing the pipes to spill all over the ground. Percy is disappointed as now he will have to wait for a crane to clear the line. However, the guard informs Percy and his crew that he has poles and pulleys in his van and they can use them. Percy wonders what pulleys are.
The pulleys turn out to be a kind of wheels that hang between poles with rope going over and around them. The men pull the rope and soon load the pipes back into the truck. Percy is very impressed by the strength of the men but the guard informs him that the pulleys are quite clever.
