Points (also known as Switches) are junctions which allow trains to change from one track to another. These are usually controlled by nearby ground-based levers.
Trivia
- All Engines Go marks the first time engines are able to change tracks without the use of points.
- In an Instagram reel, this is explained to be due to the invention of a device known as the Trackapult.
