Harold in a Hurry is a magazine story.
Plot
Gordon is busy racing down the line with the express. He is very proud to be the fastest engine on the railway. Gordon gets quite a surprise when Harold flies past him and calls him a slowcoach. Gordon rebukes Harold who just laughs.
Harold later sees Thomas pulling logs and offers to take them for him in case they are too heavy and then later still, Harold boasts to Percy, who is shunting, that he will be collecting the mayor for a meeting. Both tank engines agree Harold is being too much of a show off and they discuss this in the shed with Gordon that night.
Next morning, The Fat Controller asks Percy and Thomas to bring gangers up the line to cut the grass and then take it to the farms. As soon as Thomas leaves the yard, Harold flies by and begins to boast again, this time about bringing a new saw to the sawmill. As Thomas' trucks get filled with grass, Harold insists to the gangers he can get it delivered much quicker. Harold ends up flying too low and the grass is scattered everywhere. Harold is very sorry and admits there are some things that engines can do better.
