Hamleys is the oldest and largest toy shop in the world and one of the world's best-known retailers of toys. Founded by William Hamley as "Noahs Ark" in High Holborn, London, in 1760, it moved to its current site on Regent Street in 1881.
In 1992, after production of Series 3, some of the props were put on display and featured in puzzle produced by Hamelys titled "Thomas and his Friends visit Hamleys".
In 2010, during the 65th anniversary of Thomas & Friends and the shop's 250th, Hamleys held a special event for the occasion, where fans came down to help build the longest ever Thomas birthday cake train with carriage shaped cakes which would then be added onto the Thomas-shaped one. The event took place on Sunday 7 March at 12pm, to raise money for the National Autistic Society and 115 carriages were added to the train.
