Gordon and Harold is a magazine story.
Plot
It is an exciting day on Sodor as the mayor is going to be opening a school fête and Gordon has been asked to collect him. Gordon is very proud to have such an important task.
Unfortunately, Gordon is held up by a broken rail and he is sent back to the main station. The Fat Controller contacts Harold to collect the mayor and Gordon takes workmen to mend the line. The mayor and The Fat Controller soon arrive at the fête and Harold boasts about how useful helicopters are.
The mayor cuts the ribbon at the fête and everyone has lots of fun. The mayor can not stay long though as he has work to do at the town hall. Soon, the weather changes and it becomes quite foggy. Harold knows it is not safe for him to fly in the fog but, luckily for him, Gordon arrives on the freshly repaired rails. He collects the mayor and informs Harold that the signals will help him find his way in the fog, proving that engines can be just as useful as helicopters.
