Brio is a wooden toy company that once made Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends toys in the 1990s. These were compatible with other Brio wooden train sets as well as Learning Curve's Wooden Railway range. The range was discontinued in 2000.

Trivia
- Unlike his Learning Curve counterpart, the Brio battery-powered Thomas has a front magnet.
- Gordon is depicted as a 4-6-0 instead of a 4-6-2 due to sizing restrictions.
- Toby's face appears to have been modelled after Mavis', despite the latter never being released in Brio form.
- There were two versions of Duck available: one with green wheels and one with black.
- Oliver is the only engine released in 2000 not to originate from Thomas and the Magic Railroad.
- Brio is the only merchandise line not to give Lady her headlamps.
- On Diesel 10, a magnetised version of Pinchy is connected to his arm by a string. The arm is similar to that of a crane's arm, as it can move up, down, sideways and extend.
- Splatter and Dodge have light grey wheels instead of black.
- Rheneas is the only engine from the Skarloey Railway introduced in the fourth series who did not receive a Brio toy.
- Sir Handel is the only engine:
- With an 0-4-2 wheel arrangement to be depicted with four wheels instead of six.
- Whose cab entrance is not black, instead being blue with a black outline.
- Oliver, Lady, Skarloey, Sir Handel, Peter Sam and Duncan all reuse Duke's smokebox moulding, which includes his unique stepped funnel base.
- Henry, Gordon and Duke have a hook that connects them to their tenders, however Edward and James use magnets.
- Edward, Henry, Gordon and James are the only engines not to have front couplings.
- Toby and the diesel engines are the only engines to have front couplings the same size as their rear couplings.
- In a Japanese advertisement, Toad is referred to as "ブレークバン" (Burēkuban) meaning "Brake van" and the Troublesome Truck is called "トラブルサム" (Toraburusamu) meaning "troublesome".
- Cranky's toy was repurposed for the tower crane in the main Brio range (33320).
