A Treat for Toby! is a magazine story.
Plot
Heavy snow has fallen which means Thomas and his friends will have to go slowly, but it can also cause serious delays. When the snow melts, the engines work hard to deliver the backlog of freight and Toby has to work in the yard. When he arrives, there is no-one around. Then suddenly, Toby hears Gordon rushing by. He demands to know where his coaches were, so The Fat Controller says that Toby will fetch them quickly. But Toby is in such a hurry that he bumps the coaches behind Gordon too hard, much to Gordon's annoyance. Then, Toby notices that he was pulling along, due to the last express coach coupling becoming tangled to Toby's front coupling. He tries to stop, but to no avail. Gordon does not know that Toby is behind the coaches and eventually, Gordon brakes hard and apologises to Toby. He compliments about helping to push the coaches.

Trivia
- Toby being pulled along behind Gordon's train is similar to The Railway Series story, Thomas and Gordon from the Thomas the Tank Engine book.
Goofs
- Toby's cowcatcher and side plates are painted black.
- In the fourth illustration, part of Gordon's boiler band is blue and he is slightly stretched.
