A Treat for Thomas is a magazine story.
Plot
It is a very busy time for Thomas. Many holidaymakers have arrived on Sodor and Thomas has been given an extra train to transport them. Thomas is also given extra trucks as well because some farmers in the hills want to sell their livestock at a market on the Mainland. After the animals are loaded onto a ship, goods from the ship are loaded into Thomas' trucks. Thomas is feeling rushed off his wheels and says he will feel very grateful once all his work is done.
That evening in the shed, The Fat Controller reminds Thomas he is to take the post train in the morning. Thomas sighs and tries to sleep but he is very tired by morning and has trouble getting up steam. Thomas tells his driver he feels unwell and, once they are done with the postal run, the driver tells The Fat Controller. The Fat Controller suggests sending Thomas to the maintenance shed while Daisy takes the passengers.
Thomas is looked over at The Works but the engineers can not find anything wrong with him. The Fat Controller figures out that Thomas has been working too hard lately and decides to treat him with letting him take the Seaside Special train. Sure enough, running alongside the beach has Thomas feeling better than ever!
