General Facts

  • She was initially a member of LOVElution but was switched to EVOLution so MODHAUS didn't have to rush.[1]
  • It is suspected that she is a descendant of the Koma Clan, a immigrant royal family descended from Goguryeo, (Goguryeo was a Kingdom of Korea during 37 BC–668 AD). After 667 AD, around 1,799 Goguryeo people fled to Japan. Due to this, Koma is a rare surname in Japan with around 2,500 population.[2]
  • For the first time, she was the only member who had a SecretBase episode before moving into the HAUS.
  • It was suspected there was a pattern of revealing a foreign member and then a Korean member, but Mayu broke the pattern.
  • She is the third Japanese member and the fifth Foreign member.
  • 5 hours before her official reveal, tripleS' Twitter account accidentally uploaded the teaser but it was quickly deleted shortly after.[3]
  • She is a big fan of TWICE, and they were the main inspiration for her to pursue her dream of becoming a K-pop artist.[4] Her biases are Sana and Tzuyu.[5]

  • She was a student of Meiji University, in the department of Economics, and has been on a leave of absence since she debuted in tripleS.[9] However, as of 2025, she had withdrawn from the university to focus her career as an artist with tripleS.[10]
  • Her individual fandom name is Mayukki (마유끼), which means Mayu + Rabbit.
  • Due to her voice, height, and bubbly personality, she is often teased as a member of the Maknae Line, despite the fact that she's the second oldest member of the group.[11]
