Eilat is a resort town on the Red Sea, it enjoys views of the Bay of Aqaba and is the southernmost point of Israel. It borders with Egypt and Jordan and is surrounded by the picturesque scenery of the Negev desert.
Eilat attracts holiday makers seeking the sun in the winter months and in the summer is brimming with Israeli tourists who are not perturbed by the soaring temperatures.
Since the Taba border to Egypt and the Rabin border are both a mere few minutes drive from Eilat is a popular base for travelers to the area.

Attractions
Eilat offers a host of attractions both in and around the town. The main attractions in Eilat are Dolphin Reef, Underwater Observatory, Imax and Kings City. Tours into the surrounding desert and day trips to Petra and Cairo are also offered with the major Israeli tour company based in Eilat; Desert Eco Tours. North of Eilat are the Timna mines and desert attractions which include the Red Canyon and Hai Bar center of desert animals.
