The Evil Hunter (イービルハンター Ībiruhantā) is a malicious-looking mammal beast found in the deeper parts of the Gourmet Pyramid.
Anatomy
The Evil Hunter is a large beast whose body is covered in very spiky brown fur. It can grow to be around 7 meters in length and 3 meters in height, and when fully grown it can weigh up to 8 tons. Its face is quite odd in appearance, resembling a large beak-like mandible with three upper mandibles full of sharp teeth and two large tusks on its lower mandible, and on the sides of its beak-like head are two thin and slanted eyes.
Behavior
It is a dangerous predator and judging from its name it may be quite malicious. It is quite at home in dark places.
Powers and Abilities
The Evil Hunter has unique eyes that can not only see in the dark but can also project a strong light, allowing it to illuminate dark corridors. Its lower tusks excrete a deadly poison that can kill vulnerable victims in a matter of minutes.[1]
Uses
Because of their unique eyes, these beasts help to illuminate dark places, allowing others to traverse the underground halls of the Gourmet Pyramid.
As Food
The meat of the Evil Hunter tastes incredibly foul unless it is killed in a certain way, at which point its meat becomes tasty.
History
Mellow Cola Arc
While searching for Komatsu in the Gourmet Pyramid, Toriko and Zebra eat one of these creatures in order to restore their stamina; however, Toriko notes that its meat is absolutely foul, while Zebra finds it delicious, indicating that Zebra killed it correctly.
Anime and Manga Differences
- In the anime, its mouth is made to look even more like a beak and its head is the same color as the rest of its body with only its "beak" receiving a different color.
- Its eyes are not shown to brighten the pyramid in the anime.
