Edamame (枝魔目 (えだまめ) Edamame) is a species of bean pod plant known to grow in the Northern Wul Continent. The beans inside are strange green soya beans shaped exactly like eyeballs. Although it's creepy, it has the right amount of salt and has a good text and it goes great with Sakeyashi Fruit. They're the preferred snack food of boozers like Mansam.
Anime and Manga Differences
In the anime, Edamame was replaced with the similar looking Foam Nattou, whose beans still resemble eyeballs but are actually beans covered in fluff, making them resemble Dandelions. This change was likely brought upon to make the vegetable seem less disturbing for younger viewers. However this plant was only featured in the Narrator Highlight and in the actual scene based on the manga, Toriko instead ate a String Cheese Flower with Sakeyashi Fruit.
