Storm was a member of The Collective who worked as one of their bodyguards. He later becomes romantically involved with Trudy.
Personality
Storm is described as someone who is tall, powerfully built, strong-jawed and a young man of few words. Despite his reserved nature, Storm has a shimmering temper that can be a potent destructive force when needed. Although he has yet to be seen losing his temper, he knows how to control it especially when he was in conflict with Lex who mocked his younger sister, whom he is very protective of.
History
Pre-Tribe
Storm has a 7 year old sister named Charlotte, who was a result of a 2nd marriage his mother entered after his parents divorced. After the Virus killed his parents, Storm was streamed into the Militia when The Collective took over his town. He was trained in both fields of military and medical. His sister was then raised in the educational program that taught the Zootist faith, which Storm says he does not sanction nor believe in. He has an affinity in caring for younger children, particularly his sister, who he goes to spend time with at her dorm in Eden when he doesn't have shifts.
The Tribe: (R)Evolution
When the Mall Rats were captured by The Collective and brought to Eden, the Zootists were excited that the former Supreme Mother and Divine Child were now among their midst. The Selector personally chose Storm to guard Trudy and Brady against any Zootist fanatics during their stay in Eden. [1]
At first, Storm gets along with Brady but not with Trudy. She hated how Storm was invading her privacy and he felt like a literal unwanted cloud over her head. Trudy finally lost her temper, this was when Storm broke his orders and left her alone for the first time to give her space. Trudy realises Storm wasn’t as bad as she thought and begun to warm up to him from that point onwards.
Storm later chose to open up about his past to Trudy and reveals that despite his younger sister being brought up in the Zootist faith, he doesn't believe nor sanction it. He gets along with Sammy, Lottie and Brady as he loves children. Trudy starts to feel attracted to Storm as he now finds him to be a decent and noble man. It's later revealed that Storm and Commander Snake were the leading force in the coup to take down The Selector, who tried murdering Cami so he may become the new leader of The Collective.
After The Collective was reformed, Trudy and Storm dance at the celebrations. Their attraction is obvious and Trudy hopes both Storm and Charlotte will follow her back to the Mall. The novel is ambiguous if Storm followed her back or not, and remains an answer that is yet to be revealed.
Trivia
- Storm, along with his sister Charlotte, are the only few characters in the entire franchise to have their ages revealed. Charlotte was mentioned as 7 years old and 13 years his junior, this would make Storm to be 20 years old when doing the math. [2]
