The Heck House is where Frankie, Mike, Axl, Sue, and Brick live. It is located at 427 Birchwood Ave., Orson, Indiana 46213. It is seen to be always falling apart. Most of the house has green walls. It has a washing machine in disrepair, a dishwasher that has flooded the kitchen, a sink that fell straight through the counter in "The Sinkhole," and a leaky, lousy roof. The Hecks, especially Mike, are frustrated by this.
Frankie has attempted to plant shrubs, but they always end up being destroyed (usually along with their mailbox) by the Glossners, the Hecks' neighbors from hell. The mother of the Glossners, Rita, does nothing but defend her boys from the Hecks.

- In "Life Skills," Frankie mentions the Heck House has had bedbugs, black mold, red ants, and a frog infestation.
- Some of the Heck's neighbors include The Petersons next door, The Donahues (at 432 Birchwood Ave.), The Norwoods, and The Glossners.
- After the Meenahans went to live with family, the Petersons moved into their house.
- In June 2023, almost six years after filming on the final season of The Middle finished, the set used for scenes set at the Hecks' family home was demolished. Here is a last look at the set before demolition.
