Martin Henry Bashir is a British journalist. He appears in Season 5 of the crowd. In The Crown, he is portrayed by Prasanna Puwanarajah.
Biography
Martin is the journalist who conducted An Interview with HRH The Princess of Wales in 1995. He was a presenter on British and American television and for the BBC's Panorama program. He worked for the BBC from 1986 to 1999 on programmes including Panorama before joining ITV.
He became close with Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, by using forged documents to gain his confidence. Through the Earl, he was able to convince Diana to do the explosive interview.
