Garrett

Garrett is a recurring character in the second and third seasons of the comedy drama series The Bear. He is portrayed by Andrew Lopez.

Background

Garrett is 30 years old. Sometime during his twenties, he struggled with alcoholism. In the process of getting sober, he learned about acts of service. Being able to serve other people is what drew him to work in hospitality within fine dining.

Garrett has a no-nonsense attitude and meticulous attention to detail. He is completely devoted to his job at Ever and demands the same amount of respect for his work from others. He is a team player and thrives under pressure.

Richie

Garrett is Richie's supervisor when Richie comes to stage at Ever for one week. He has no tolerance for Richie's disrespectful attitude, which leads to Garrett giving Richie an emphatic lecture in the alley outside of the restaurant. Richie seems to internalize Garrett's words, and over the course of the week, Richie begins to change the way that he approaches work. By the end of his internship, Richie earns Garrett's commendation, and they leave on good terms.
