Speak up. I can't hear you whining for help.

Whoever said they don't make them like they used to probably had Rainmaker in mind. He is old and cantankerous, and was at one point deemed no longer essential to the war effort. Since being returned to active service, he has grown even more bitter and cynical. However, he hates feeling bored and listless, and to that end works hard to prove himself useful. He transforms into a C-130, capable of converting from the C-130H "Hercules" to the AC-130U "Spooky" at a moment's notice. He possesses barometric manipulation systems that allow him to create artificial storm clouds. He can use these to create cover for himself while transporting cargo or personnel, or to call down hampering rain and lightning strikes, and the electrostatic discharge has been known to wreak havoc with local radio systems. His gunship configuration cannot benefit from the concealment afforded by his artificial clouds, but it is equipped with thermal targeting and all-weather navigational systems. His gunship form carries a frightening array of ballistic and incendiary weaponry, allowing him to provide a variety of combat support techniques to troops on the ground. Although some of his systems have been improved since his reactivation, many of his circuits and sensors are outdated and aging, particularly his hearing. What surprises most people is his little-used submarine mode, a Type-VII U-Boat. It is armed with torpedoes, deck guns, flak systems, and can deploy mines. Unfortunately, he can't sustain this mode for very long because it is prone to leaking. In spite of his antiquated systems, Rainmaker is extremely hardy and capable of withstanding the most brutal of punishments.

History

Canonical/Pre-MUX/Theme History:

MUX History:

On the fourth of July, 2013, After being rigged with a tracker and repaired just enough to remain functional by Spike Witwicky, Jetfire, and Throttle, Nightlash was found by Decepticon forces in a comatose state. Assisted by Rainmaker, the sweeps Scourge and Plunder managed to get her stabilized and back safely to Trypticon. During the flight back, a tracking device belonging to the Autobots was found on Nightlash and destroyed.

08Sep2013 - Nightlash, following some errant Heavy Metal radio broadcasts, encountered the Decepticons Banshee and Rainmaker. Suspiscions between Rainmaker and Nightlash were high. However, there was only tense dialogue as Nightlash tried to find out the current Decepticon agenda. Rainmaker, however, refused to divulge any information on the matter and the two parted ways.

OOC Notes

Oddly enough, Rainmaker isn't a Rainmaker.
