Formerly known as GRIDIRON, KODIAK is a tough and dedicated Autobot, one of the first to step up to the challenge of fending off the Decepticon scourge. On duty, he is gruff, serious, and to the point. Off duty, he is jovial, kind, and always willing to whip up a party to keep up morale among the troops. Originally constructed to work the smelters back on Cybertron, he is built tough, a natural soldier, but that calling would never have occurred to him had the Decepticons not attacked his factory. Faced with the loss of that day, he turned his talents to war and joined the Autobot cause. When Iacon was attacked by the Fallen GRIDIRON fell to his onslaught but his spark lived on. Reborn as KODIAK he has been built into the form of the Kodiak tank that was provided to GI Joe by the Autobots to honor their assistance in rebuilding Iacon. In this mode is is capable of reaching speeds of nearly 120 MPH. In robot mode he carries a heavy energy cannon, machine guns on one shoulder and a missile rack on the other. Due to his past, he has a resistance to high temperatures, but this resistance also has a side effect of leaving him vulnerable to extreme cold.

History
Canonical/Pre-MUX/Theme History:
Originally constructed to work the smelters back on Cybertron, Gridiron was built tough, a natural soldier - but that calling would never have occurred to him had the Decepticons not attacked his factory. Faced with the loss of that day, he turned his talents to war and joined the Autobot cause.
MUX History:
In 2016 Americans, Autobots, and Russians traveled to Benzheen to try to win a tank contract there. During the trial, Benzheen was attacked by forces from nearby Trucial Abysmia. The combined Autobot/G.I. Joe/Russian team drove the Trucial Abysmian forces back from the Benzheen border, although the Benzheen government was ultimately overthrown from within and a new pro-Abysmian military government was formed.
Gridiron was apparently killed by the Fallen in 2019, but was subsequently reborn as Kodiak, named and patterned after G.I. Joe's Kodiak tank.

- October 6 - "Working on Kodiak" - Kodiak is back on his feet but still needs to get used to his new alt form. It's running a bit rough.
