Zhanna (Born in 1932) is Misha's younger sister. Throughout the course of the story, she falls in love with Soldier and eventually becomes his wife.
History
Zhanna was shown as a toddler when her family escaped from the gulag in December, 1941. Along with her mother and sister, she has been hiding out in a large cabin in the Siberian mountain range ever since, while her brother left for America to make his fortune, sending most of his paycheck over to support them.
In her encounter with Jeremy, she claims to not have a man in 20 years and was prepared to lay with him, but the Scout's bumbling attempts at proving his machismo quickly convinced her to save herself up for someone else.
Although not very bright, Zhanna is very courageous and strong, as well as affectionate with those she cares about, i.e. Soldier. The two share a proudly ignorant worldview and love for needless violence.
