The MIR-175 Integrated Soldier Project, also known as MIR-175 Surgically Enhanced Soldier or simply MIR-175, is a cyborg unit developed by MIR. It is comparable to Skynet's THETA hybrids[1] and is designed to integrate human soldiers with advanced cybernetic enhancements.[2]
Specification
The core of the MIR-175 unit is the Tovarisch Node, a pseudo-AI typically installed aboard MIR's war machines. This node acts as a neurological upgrade, bypassing or replacing the human brain and central nervous system. While the Tovarisch is not as sophisticated as a Terminator, it is comparable to an outdated Humanoid Hunter Killer and is sufficient for maintaining the biological viability of the unit while suppressing fear responses.
The initial design for the MIR-175 involved a complete skull and brain replacement, but this approach was abandoned as it had a high risk of infection. Subsequent models were modified to have the prosthesis sit on the shoulders, resembling a small backpack or plane pillow, but these were only meant for units operating away from MIR hubs. For units stationed at MIR hubs, the prosthesis was further miniaturized into smaller implants that relied on a wireless link to a unit management subprocessor, reducing the need for onboard processing power. MIR-175 units are typically equipped with AKM assault rifles and wear body armor.
Spetsnaz officially denies the existence of these hybrids, blaming MIR-175 sightings on separatists. Allegedly, giving credence to the rumors was an easy way to get reassigned to the dangerous Special Projects division. The Terminator RPG: Resist!
