Warp Portal ｢拠点移動, wāpu pōtaru, lit. "Base Transfer"｣ is a Spatial magic spell used by various characters across the series.
Abilities
Warp Portal first requires that a specially made magic circle comprised of physical components is placed at the target destination, with a powerful magical catalyst, relative to the distance the user wishes to travel, being expended in the process. A warp point made of pure magisteel creates a permanent warp point that does not need a catalyst to activate. Once a mark is created, it is possible to teleport to the marking by creating an additional magic circle, linking the two together and allowing for travel between them.[1] For more powerful casters of Warp Portal, it is possible to activate the spell in an instant, as opposed to the several minutes needed for the average mage.[2]
A caster of Warp Portal is capable of bringing other people along with them during the activation, however a proportionate amount of Mana is needed for each individual person, making it nearly impossible to use on large groups.[3] It is also possible to create warp points at many different locations simultaneously, however each warp point can only be linked to one other warp point, making it a fixed teleport between the two specified spaces.
Escape
Escape ｢離脱魔法, esukēpu, lit. "Withdrawal Magic"｣ is a variant of Warp Portal that is designed to quickly transfer the user and their allies away in the heat of battle. It's limited to a short range but the catalyst used is relatively cheap in comparison to long-range teleportation.[4]
