Position Change is a move that was initially universal in Tekken 4. As the name suggests, you can switch positions with your opponent. There are 5 versions of this move: regular (1+3), shove straight (1+3,f), position switch (1+3,b), and shove upstage (1+3,d), and shove downstage (1+3,u).
In Tekken 5 onwards, only Steve is still capable of performing either the regular version and shove straight version. If the shove straight variant causes the opponent's back to hit the wall, Steve is guaranteed follow-ups from the attack.
Trivia
- In the 2001 beta of Tekken 4, the shove back actually left an opponent in back turn, similar to King's Turn Around.[1]
- In Tekken 5 the shove straight variant has a glitch where if Steve quickly grabs an opponent with the Armlock Throw, it will instead result in a glitched Schoolyard Bully, similar to the Back Turn Chicken glitch of Tekken 3.[2]
