Iron Hand (金剛槍掌 Kongō Sōshō?, lit. "Vajra Spear Palm") is a signature move of Heihachi Mishima from Tekken 4 onwards, replacing the similar Heavy Power Punch he had since the first game.
In Tekken 5, Heihachi was able to chain Iron Hand after a Hammer Punch like the Hammer Punch to Iron Hand combo from before, but the said combo was removed in Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. Acheron's Plight uses Iron Hand as the second part of the attack.
This move is a Heat Engager in Tekken 8.
Description
Heihachi steps forward with his right palm thrusting forward in unison with the step via a low stance, akin to the aforementioned Heavy Power Punch, but done with a palm instead of a closed fist and a lower stance.
Later games also have the palm aimed slanted-up slightly, though it still can hit most crouching opponents.
Trivia
- The move's name can also translate as either "Diamond Spear Palm" or "Adamantine Spear Palm".
- The Japanese term kongō (金剛, lit. "gold strength") is also the Japanese name for Vajra, the thunderbolt of Indra.
- Via similar naming in both English and Japanese, this move is likely a variant of the Quick Iron Fist.
- Like Paul's Phoenix Smasher, the Iron Hand like any other Heavy Power Punch and/or HPP-derivative has a special camera zoom that occurs on any successful hit (though prior versions of the former move had it only occur on counter hit first).
