Xi'an, earlier known as Xianyang or Chang'an, was a city in the province of Shaanxi, China. (PROSE: The Eleventh Tiger [+]David A. McIntee, BBC Past Doctor Adventures (BBC Books, 2004).) In the 3rd century BC, (PROSE: The Eleventh Tiger [+]David A. McIntee, BBC Past Doctor Adventures (BBC Books, 2004).) during the reign of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, Xianyang was the capital of China. (PROSE: Marco Polo [+]John Lucarotti, adapted from Marco Polo (John Lucarotti), Target novelisations (Target Books, 1985).) The Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang was located near the city. In 1865, the First Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Vicki Pallister and allies battled a resurrected Qin Shi Huang (curtesy of the Mandragora Helix) in the mausoleum.
