Richard Todd (11 June 1919-3 December 2009[1]) played Sanders in the Doctor Who television story Kinda.
He was also considered for the role of General Grugger in Meglos.
Career
Todd was a distinguished British character actor, receiving an Oscar nomination for his performance in the 1949 film The Hasty Heart. He also appeared alongside William Hartnell in the 1957 film Yangtze Incident.
A veteran of the Normandy landings, Todd was well known for his work in war dramas such as The Dam Busters and The Longest Day and for playing Robin Hood and Rob Roy for Walt Disney. He became an OBE in 1993.
