Josie-D was a contestant on Britain's Got Talent. Her rivalry with fellow contestant Nina was front page news on the Colchester Evening News on 19 April 2011.
Rivalry with Nina
According to the paper, the pair of rival singers didn't believe there was room for both of them in the show. What began as mild mannered backstage sniping soon turned into something much more serious.
Josie-D denied accusations by Nina that she was buying strikingly similar outfits in the early stages of the competition. As the final stages loomed, she blamed Nina for spreading rumours about her liberal attitude towards relationships.
Josie developed a throat infection and was advised by show medics to administer a basic antiseptic spray four times a day. Nina claimed that she wasn’t ill at all, but just being and attention seeker and trying to excuse a poor performance, but in return Josie-D claimed that Nina had tampered with her medication before that Saturday’s show and added household bleach to the throat spray. Tests revealed that the spray had been tampered with, and Nina was kicked off of the show pending a police investigation. (TV: Closing Time)
