Joseph Willow was a resident of Little Hodcombe.
He participated in Sir George Hutchinson's war games as a sergeant and helped him fight against the Fifth Doctor, Tegan, and Turlough when they arrived in the village.
After Sir George's death, the TARDIS crew took him onboard the TARDIS for safety moments before the church's destruction. (TV: The Awakening)
